HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1986-105 1984-1988COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. z 3I ORDINANCE NO. 86 105 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-253, Schedule 1, relating to 15-mile-per-hour speed limit zones, is amended to add a new item to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Kohola Street, from Kilauea Avenue to Iolani Street " SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-255, Schedule 3, relating to twenty-five mile per hour speed zones, is amended by adding a new item to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Napoopoo Road, from the Hawaii Belt Road to its makai terminus." SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-257, Schedule 5, relating to thirty-five mile per hour speed zones, is amended to read as follows: ' "(22) Kilauea Avenue, from Lono Street to [Haihai Street] Hale Manu Drive." SECTION 4. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-275, Schedule 23, relating to bus stops, is amended to read as follows: "(22) Waianuenue Avenue, [east side, beginning from a point thirty feet mauka of Kapiolani Street and extending the mauka direction for a distance of sixty feet, from six a.m. to six p.m., Monday through Saturday] Hamakua side, beginning from a point forty feet mauka of Kaiulani Street and extendin two hundred twenty-five feet in the mauka direction from 1:00 .m. to :30 q.m. on school davs." SECTION 5. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-276(c), Schedule 24, relating to crosswalks, is amended by deleting item 27 from subsection (c), South Hilo: "((27) Waianuenue Avenue, a single crosswalk serving both the Hilo Union School and its annex.] SECTION 6. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280(c), Schedule 28, relating to no parking at anytime, is amended by deleting items 122 and 123 from subsection (c), South Hilo: "[(122) Waianuenue Avenue, Puna side, from Kapiolani Street for a distance of one hundred twenty feet in the mauka direction. (123) Waianuenue Avenue, Puna side, one stall mauka of the Hilo Union School Annex crosswalk, from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on school days.]" SECTION 7. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280(c), Schedule 28, relating to no parking at anytime, is amended to add a new item under subsection (c), South Hilo, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Lanikaula Street, Hamakua side, beginning at the drivewav to the Church of the Holy Cross and extending one hundred ten feet in the makai direction." -2- SECTION 8. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-286(a), Schedule 34, relating to no stopping, standing or parking areas, is amended to add a new item under subsection (a), South Hilo, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Waianuenue Avenue, Puna side, beginning at a oint one thousand twenty-four feet makai of Laimana Street and extending ninety feet in the makai direction." SECTION 9. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-287, Schedule 35, relating to passenger loading zones, is amended to add two new items to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Waianuenue Avenue, Puna side, beginning at a point eight hundred twelve feet makai of Laimana Street and extendi two hundred twelve feet in the makai direction from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on school days. ( ) Waianuenue Avenue, Puna side, beginning at a point one thousand one hundred fourteen feet makai of Laimana Street and extending one hundred five feet in the makai direction from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on school days." SECTION 10. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-288 Schedule 36, relating to freight loading zones, is amended to read as follows: "(30) Kilauea Avenue, makka side, beginning at a point [two hundred thirty] two hundred seventy feet Puna side of Mamo Street and extending [thirty] forty-four feet in the Puna direction." -3- SECTION 11. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be included. SECTION 12. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 13. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
