AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, ARTICLE 2, DIVISION 3,
SECTION 18-49(d) OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO
TAXIMETERS AND FARES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 18, Section 18-49(a), of the Hawaii
County Code 1983, relating to Schedule of Fares, is amended to
read as follows:
(1) Initial meter actuation shall equal [one-sixth]
one-eighth of a mile or less, or one minute waiting or elapsed
time or less.
(2) Thereafter, 20 cents for each additional [one-sixth]
one-eighth of a mile or fraction thereof.
(3) 20 cents for each additional one minute of waiting or
elapsed time or fraction thereof.
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
other provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
