AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, ARTICLE 2, DIVISION 3,
SECTION 18-49(a), OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO
TAXIMETERS AND FARES.
BE IZ' ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CUUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 18, article 2, division 3,
section 18-49(a), of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to
schedules of fares, is amended to read as follows:
"(1) Initial meter actuation shall equal (51.20] $2 and
shall entitle customers to one-eighth of a mile or less, or one
minute waiting or elapsed time or less.
(2) Thereafter, 20 cents for each additional one-eighth of a
mile or fraction thereof.
(3) 20 cents for each additional one minute of waiting or
elapsed time or fraction thereof."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets ,'bracketed material, and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
