ORDINANCE NO. 90 88
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY
CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5,
section 24-282, schedule 30, of the Hawaii County Code 1983,
relating to 36 minute parking areas, is amended to read as follows:
"Section 24-282. Schedule 3Q. 36 minute parking areas..
When signs are erected giving notice thereof, vehicle parking on
the following streets and portions of streets is limited to
thirty-six minutes:
(1) [Kekaulike Street, from Waianuenue Avenue to Wailuku
Drive.] RESERVED.
(2) [The makai side of Kinoole Street, from Waianuenue
Avenue to Wailuku Drive.] RESERVED."
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5,
section 24-283, schedule 31, of the Hawaii County Code 1983,
relating to one hour parking areas, is amended to read as follows:
"Section 24-283. Schedule 31. One hour parking areas.
when signs are erected giving notice thereof, vehicle parking on
the following streets and portions of streets is limited to one
hour:
(1) [Furneaux Lane, from Kilauea Avenue to Kamehameha
Avenue.] RESERVED.
(2) [Haili Street, from Kinoole Street to Kamehameha
Street.] RESERVED.
(3) [Kalakaua Street, from Keawe Street to Kamehameha
Street.] RESERVED.
(4) [Kalakaua Street, from Kinoole Street to Keawe Street.]
RESERVED.
(5) [Kamehameha Avenue, from Shipman Street to Ponahawai
Street.] RESERVED.
(6) [Keawe Street, from Wailuku Drive to Kilauea Avenue.]
RESERVED.
(7) (Kekuanaoa Street, between Honu Lane and Kilauea
Avenue.] RESERVED.
(8) [Kilauea Avenue, from Haili Street to Kukuau Street.]
RESERVED.
(9) (Kilauea Avenue, makai side, between Lanihuli Street and
Kekuanaoa Street.] RESERVED.
(10) [Kinoole Street, from Haili Street to Ponahawai
Street.] RESERVED.
(11) [Kinoole Street, mauka side, from Waianuenue Avenue to
Wailuku Drive.] RESERVED.
(12) Mamalahoa Highway in Kainaliu, from Okamura Store to
the Kau side of Aloha Theater.

(13) Mamane Street in Honokaa, between Lehua Street and
Ohelo Street.
(14) [Mohouli Street, the stalls on either side between
Kilauea Avenue and a point one hundred sixty feet mauka of Kilauea
Avenue, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily except Sundays and
holidays.] RESERVED.
(15) [Mauro Street, from Kinoole Street to Kamehameha
Street.] RESERVED.
(16) [Nawahi Lane, from Punahoa Street to Kamehameha
Avenue.] RESERVED.
(17) [POnahawai Street, from Kinoole Street to Kamehameha
Avenue.] RESERVED.
(18) [Punahoa Street, from Ponahawai Street to its end in
the Hamakua direction.] RESERVED.
(19) [Shipman Street, from Kekaulike Street to Kamehameha
Avenue.] RESERVED.
(20) [Waianuenue Avenue, five stalls between the entrance
and exit driveways into the Hilo High School grounds and fronting
the Administration Building.] RESERVED.
(21) [Wailuku Drive, from Ululani Street to the junction of
Shipman Street and Kamehameha Avenue.] RESERVED.
(22) [Waianuenue Avenue from Keawe Street to Kamehameha

Police Station Road and Milo Street."

SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5,
section 24-284, schedule 32, item (2) of the Hawaii County Code
1983, relating to two hour parking areas, is amended to read as
follows:
"(2) [Kinoole Street, between Haili Street and Waianuenue
Avenue.] RESERVED."
SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6,
section 24-287, schedule 35, item (17) of the Hawaii County Code
1983, relating to passenger loading zones, is amended to read as
follows:
"(17) [In front of the Papaaloa Theater.] RESERVED."
SECTION 5. Chapter 24, article 10, division 7,
section 24-291, schedule 39, item (19) of the Hawaii County Code
1983, relating to two hour parking meter zones, is amended to read
as follows:
"(19) [MOnouli] Mohouli Street, between Kilauea Avenue and a
point one hundred sixty feet mauka of Kilauea Avenue."
SECTION 6. Material to be deleted is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 7. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid

provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 8. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
