ORDINANCE NO. 92 68
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII
COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, section 24-256,
schedule 4, of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to 30 mile
per hour speed limits, is amended to read as follows:
Section 24-256. Schedule 4. 30 mile per hour
limit. A speed limit of thirty miles per hour is
established as set forth in this schedule upon the
streets or portions of streets following:
(1) Alii Drive, from Walua Road (vicinity of
Kona Hilton Hotel) to Kamehameha III Road in Keauhou.
(2) Aupuni Street, from Pauahi Street to Kilauea
Avenue.
(3) Haunani Road at Volcano.
(4) [Kalapana Beach Road, from a point
2.35 miles north of the Kapoho-Kumukahi intersection
to the Kaimu-Pahoa-Kapoho intersection.] Kalanianaole
Rtraat- James Kealoha Park Access Road to Leleiwi
Street.
(5) [Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from a point
2.35 miles south of the Kapoho-Kumukahi intersection
to the Hawaii National Park boundary.] Kalaoana Beach
intersection.
(6) [Kilauea Avenue, from Ponahawai Street to
Lono Street.] Kalavana-Kapoho Beach Road from a vo
(7) [North Kulani Road, Pacific Paradise Gardens
Subdivision to Ihope Road.l Kilauea Avenue from
Ponahawai Street to Lono Street.
(8) Leilani Street, from Kanoelehua Avenue to
Kekuanaoa Street.

Junction to the Keauhou Junction, Kona.
(10) Mamalahoa Highway in Kona, from the terminal
of the State Hiqhway at Honalo to the terminal of the
State Highway at Captain Cook.
(11) (Mauna Kea Road, from a point 2.46 miles
north of the Saddle Road intersection to Mauna Kea
State Park, Hale Pohaku.) Mamalahoa Hiahwav in
vicinity of Fukushima Store
(12) [Pahoa Road, from Kahakai Boulevard for a
distance of 0.75 mile in the Pahoa direction.] Mauna
Kea Road from a point 2 46 miles north of the Saddle
Road intersection to Mauna Kea State Park Hale Pohaku
(13) [Mamalahoa Hiqhway in Waimea, from Lindsey
Road to a point five thousand five hundred feet in the
Honokaa direction in the vicinity of Fukushima
Store.l Nnrrh Kulani Road Pacific Paradise Gardens
Subdivision to Ihope Road
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, section 24-257,
schedule 5, item 16, of the Hawaii County Code, relating to
35 mile per hour speed limits, is amended to read as follows:
(16) Kalanianaole Street, from Kamehameha [to

SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. in printing this ordinance, the
underscoring need not be included.

SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without
the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
