ORDINANCE NO. 32 8~
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 92-74, RELATING TO PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 1992 TO JUNE 30, 1993.
WHEREAS, there exists a $26,889 balance in the Hilo
Professional Building - Land Acquisition Project; and
WHEREAS, the growth of activities in downtown Hilo have
resulted in traffic congestion and a lack of parking space,
particularly in the vicinity of Mamo Street and Punahoa Street; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Main Street Program is developing a parking
lot which will accommodate 133 vehicles on the mauka side of
Punahoa Street between Mamo Street and Beckley Lane and which can
relieve the parking problem and enhance traffic circulation; and
WHEREAS, the Council agrees that the fund balance in the Hilo
Professional Building - Land Acquisition Project should be used
for the parking improvements as indicated above, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 92-74, relating to public
improvements and financing thereof for the fiscal year
July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993, is hereby amended by adding the
following project:
Mamo Street Parking Lot $22,222
SECTION 2. Funds for this project shall be provided from the
balance of the funds originally transferred from the General Fund
for the Hilo Professional Building Land Acquisition Project. As
of May 31, 1992, the Monthly Budget Status Report shows that an
unemcumbered balance of $26,889 existed in the Capital Budget
account number 110-599-5592.70.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upor~its
approval.
