HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1992-149 1992-1994COUNTY OF HAWAII ;STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO, 696 ORDINANCE NO. 92 149 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, SECTION 24-255, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, section 24-255, schedule 3, of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to 25 mile per hour speed limits, is amended to read as follows: Section 24-255. Schedule 3. 25 mile per hour limit. A speed limit of twenty-five miles per hour is established as set forth in this schedule upon streets or portions of streets as follows: (1) Ahualoa Homestead Road. (2) Ainaola Drive, from Malaai Road to its terminus in the mauka direction. (3) Alae Point Subdivision, South Hilo: (a) Kahoa Street. (b) Makakai Place. (c) Nahala Street. (4) Banyan Drive to Hilo. (5) Banyan Way in Hilo, from Kalanianaole Avenue to Banyan Drive. (6) Honokaa-Waipio Road, from a point six hundred feet west of mile marker 8 on Route 240 to the Waipio Valley lookout. (7) Honokohau Small Boat Harbor Road, beginning at the Kailua-Kawaihae Road, for a distance of approximately one mile. (8) Hualalai Road, North Kona, from Alii Drive to the Old Mamalahoa Highway. (9) Hualalai Villa, Hilo, on the following streets: (a) Hale Nani Street. (b) Hale Nani Place. (10) Kaiwiki Road, beginning at a point 0.6 miles mauka of the Old Hawaii Belt road and extending to its mauka terminus. (11) Kamehameha Avenue from Pauahi Street to Route 19, in the vicinity of the old Hilo Iron Works. (12) All streets within the area bounded by Kamehameha Avenue, Ponahawai Street, Kinoole Street, and Wailuku Drive. (13) Kealakaa Street. (14) Keauhou Bay Resort area, North Kona: (a) Ehukai Street. (b) Holua Road. (c) Kamehameha III Road, makai of Alii Drive. (d) Unnamed south access road (Access Road B) from Alii Drive into the Keauhou Bay area. (e) The cul-de-sac street off Kamehameha III Road in Area 5. (15) Konawaena School Road, from Mamalahoa Highway to the school. (16) On Kuakini Highway, beginning at a point four hundred feet south of Hualalai Road to its terminus at the Old Kona Airport. (17) Kukuau Street. (18) Kukui Camp Road, from the Hawaii Belt Road to its terminus. (19) North Kulani Road, Route 11 to Pacific Paradise Gardens Subdivision. (20) Lanakila Homes area, all streets. (21) Laupahoehoe Beach Road access road. (22) Lehua Street in Honokaa, from the junction of Lehua and Plumeria Streets to Mamane Street. (23) Lihiwai Street in Hilo, from Kamehameha Avenue extending through Liliuokalani Park and to its terminal at the intersection with Banyan Drive. (24) Mamalahoa Highway, (Ahualoa Road), from Honokaa to the Hawaii Belt Road at Waimea. (25) Mamalahoa Highway in Papaikou, from Yoshiyama Store to Kalanianaole School. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. -4- SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to his end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 5.
