ORDINANCE NO. s'3 83
AN ORDINANCE NAMING THE TODDLERS PLAYGROIIND LOCATED AT RAILUA
PARK (THE OLD RONA AIRPORT PARR).
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TAE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Findings and Purpose. The purpose of this
ordinance is to name the newly completed toddlers playground
located at Kailua Park, pursuant to Article 8 of Chapter 15 of
the Hawaii County Code of 1983, which establishes guidelines
for the naming of county parks and recreational facilities.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law to the
contrary, the toddlers playground at Kailua Park is hereby
named Na Kamalei Playground.
SECTION 3. Where the geographical name, Kailua Park and
Kealakehe Park is a duplication of an already existing name of
a recreational facility or ongoing park project, pursuant to
Section 15-67 (a)(2)(C), this park shall be given a name in the
Hawaiian language which describes its site. "Na Kamalei"
translates as "Precious .Children" and as the park was created
for and will be utilized by children, this name is appropriate.
SECTION 4. In the event that any portion of this
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
