ORDINANCE NO. 9~ 15
AN ORDINANCE NAMING THE NEWLY EXPANDED 5-ACRE PARK AREA ADJACENT
TO RAMEHAMEHA PARR IN NORTH ROHALA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TAE COIINCIL OF THE COIINTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Findings and Purpose. The purpose of this
ordinance is to name the newly expanded 5-acre park area
adjacent to Kamehameha Park located in North Kohala
(TMK:5-4-09:04), pursuant to Article 8 of Chapter 15 of the
Hawaii County Code of 1983, which establishes guidelines for
the naming of county parks and recreational facilities.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law to the
contrary, the newly expanded 5-acre park area adjacent to
Kamehameha Park in North Kohala is hereby named North Kohala
Veteran's Field.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 15-67 (a)(2)(A), this
park shall be named for its geographical location. It was also
the sentiment of numerous North Kohala community members to
honor the many dedicated people from Kohala who served in
previous wars.
SECTION 4. In the event that any portion of this
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
