AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, DIVISION 6, SECTION 24-242 OF
THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO PARKING PERMITS FOR
DISABLED PERSONS, HY INCREASING THE TERM OF THE PERMITS AND THE
SETTING OF APPLICABLE FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, Division 6, Section 24-242 (c) of
the Hawaii County Code, is amended to read as follows:
Section 24-242. The Office of the Mayor to issue placards.
(c) The Office of the Mayor shall issue ["permanent"]
removable windshield placards which will remain valid for a
period not to exceed [three years] four nears and temporary
removable windshield placards which will remain valid for a
period not to exceed six months.
(1) The fee for the issuance or renewal for a
removable windshield placard will be $10.00, the
fee for a temporary removable windshield placard
will be $2.50.
(2) A $2.50 fee for replacement placards which
are lost, mutilated or stolen may be charged.
SECTION 2. Materials to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of this
ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity, shall not
affect the other parts of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
