ORDINANCE NO. 94 88
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 4, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY
CODE 1983, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER'S
LICENSING FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 4, section 24-20, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to motor vehicle driver's permit
and license fees, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 24-20. Motor vehicle driver's permit and license
fees. The following fees are established for the
application and renewal of motor vehicle instruction
permits and driver's licenses:
(a) Application for instruction permit, $5.
(b) ~ Application for driver's license (not
chargeable if applicant presents evidence of
having paid to Hawaii County the application
for instruction permit fee.), $1.
[(c)] ~ Driver's license valid for two years, $6.
[(d)] Sew Renewal of driver's license valid for two
years, $6.
[(e)] ~Z Driver's license valid for four years, $12.
[(f)] ~cZ Renewal of driver's license valid for four
years, $12.
[(g)] ~) Duplicate license, $5.
[(h)] ~ Road test fees (categories 1, 2, and 3),
$5.~ (cateaorv 9). $50."
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 4, section 24-21, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to motor vehicle driver's
license examination fees, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 24-21. Motor vehicle driver's license examination
fees. The following fees are established for the
examination of drivers applying for a driver's license:
[(a) For category types four and five, $10.
(b) For category types six and seven, $12.
(c) For category types eight through ten, $14.]
(a) Written examination fee, $1.
SECTION 3. Material to be deleted is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect [upon its
approval.] ninety (90) days after the Council's approval.
