BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SALARY GRADES FOR DEPUTIES IN
THE OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL AND THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 2-150 of the Hawaii County Code, is
hereby, amended to read as follows:
Section 2-150 - Salary Schedule.
The Appointing Authorities shall establish salary schedules
for Grades LG-1 and LG-2 within a range between fifty (50)
and ninety (90) percent of the salary which has been
established for the appointing authority by ordinance. The
Department Head shall set the salary for the individual
deputies based upon the individual's professional experience
and performance. [The salary schedule shall be set in
proportion to the salary of the First Deputy with each step
in grade being set at a dollar amount which equals a
specific percentage of the salary of the First Deputy. When
the salary of the First Deputy is increased the salary
schedule shall be increased proportionately.]
SECTION 2. Material to be deleted is marketed. In printing
this ordinance, the brackets and bracketed material need not be
included.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
