ORDINANCE NO. 95 121
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 (TRAFFIC SCHEDULE), OF THE
HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-253,
schedule 1 (ten mile per hour limit), of the Hawaii County Code, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 24-253. Schedule 1. Ten mile per
hour limit. A speed limit of ten miles per hour
is established as set forth in this schedule upon
the streets or portions of streets as follows:
(a) Hamakua•
(1) Banyan Street.
j2) Ilima Street.
(3) Kamani Street. Pikake Street to its
terminus.
L4) Kawila Street.
(5) Ohai Street, Pikake Street to its
terminus.
(6) Ulu Street.
(7, Wiliwili Street.

SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1,
section 24-253.1, schedule 1.1 (fifteen mile per hour limit), of
the Hawaii County Code, is amended to read as follows:
Section 24-253.1. Schedule 1.1 15 mile per
hour limit. A speed limit of fifteen miles per
hour is established as set forth in this schedule
upon the streets or portions of streets as follows:

(3) Koniaka Place.
(4) Maile Street.

SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1,
section 24-254, schedule 2 (20 mile per hour limit), of the Hawaii
County Code, is amended to read as follows:
Section 24-254. Schedule 2. 20 mile per
hour limit. A speed limit of twenty miles per
hour is established as set forth in this schedule
upon the streets or portions of streets as follows:
(a) Hamakua•
(1) Kamani Street. Pakalana Street to
its terminus.
(2) Mauna Loa Street.
lb) North Hilo•
(c) South Hilo•
(1) Anderton Camp Road in Papaikou, from
the Mamalahoa Highway for a distance of 1,700 feet
in the mauka direction.
(2) Hoku Street.
(d) Ka'u•
(e) Kohala•
(f ) Kona

Kahauloa Houselots Road to the City of Refuge.
SECTION 4. New material is underscored. Material to be
repealed is bracketed. In printing this ordinance, the brackets,
bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 5. If any provision of this ordinance, or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid,

such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
