ORDINANCE NO. 9S 142
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, AS
AMENDED, RELATING TO TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Bill is to add a new section and schedule to
the Hawaii County Code establishing active loading and unloading zones in the County, add a
list of streets to that new section of the code, and remove those list of streets from the freight
loading zone section of the code.
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 8, Division 3, of the Hawaii County Code is hereby
amended by adding a new Section to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:

SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, relating to Loading Zones of the
Hawaii County Code is hereby amended by adding a new Section to read as follows:
"Section 24 288 Ol Schedule 36 Ol Active loading and unloading zones When

SECTION 4. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-288, Schedule 36 of the Hawaii County
Code is hereby amended by deleting the following item relating to two hour parking meter
zones:
[(25) Punahoa Street, makai side, from Mamo Street to a point 61 feet in the Hamakua
direction.]
SECTION 5. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-288, Schedule 36 of the Hawaii County
Code is hereby amended by deleting the following item relating to two hour pazking meter
zones:
(( ) Kamehameha Avenue, mauka side, from Mamo Street to a point 60 feet in the
Hamakua direction, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Wednesdays and Saturdays.]
SECTION 6. Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-288, Schedule 36 of the Hawaii County
Code is hereby amended by deleting the following items relating to two hour parking meter
zones:
[( ) Mamo Street, both sides, from Kamehameha Avenue to Punahoa Street, from 5
a.m. to 4 p.m., on Wednesdays and Saturdays.]
SECTION 7. New material is underscored. Material to be repealed is bracketed. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 8. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end the provisions of this ordinance are declazed to be severable.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.
