HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1995-145 1994-1996COUNTY OF HAWAII `STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 164 1 Dr~>'r z ) ORDINANCE NO. 95 145 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 2, DIVISION 2, SECTION I5-27, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO ADVERTISEMENT IN PARK AREAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter I5, article 2, division 2, section 15-27, Hawaii County Code 1983, is amended to read as follows: "Section 15-27. Permission required for [advertisement] advertising and signs in park area. ~ Commercial notices or advertisements shall not be displayed, posted or distributed on County lands within a pazk azea unless prior written permission has been given by the director. Such permission may be granted the director under any of the following circumstances: [only] if the notice or advertisement is of goods, services, or facilities available within the park area and such notices and advertisements aze found by the director to be desirable and necessary for the convenience and guidance of the public, or L2,2 if a sign is temporary in nature and is exhibited only during the time the event is actually occurring, provided a payment is made to the County of Hawaii as established by administrative rules. Lb,2 ~ The Council, by resolution, may allow a permanent sign in a county pazk, which displays the name and/or logo of any company or organization that sponsors. constructs or donates the permanent sign, for the purpose of displaying future and current public events in exchange for the construction of the permanent si fn, and/or for advertising purposes. The permanent sign shall comply with Chapter 3 of the Hawaii County Code. Permanent signs are allowed in the Hoolulu Complex onik ~ Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, the director may allow any type of commercial advertising on golf scorecards." SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the bracketed material and underscoring need not be included. SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of this ordinance is declared invalid, such invalidity, shall not affect the other parts of this ordinance. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
