Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 89, reports as follows:
Bill No. 89, transmitted via Communication No. 364 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated
May 11, 2009, presents a Request for Change of District Classification by Estrella C. Acasio, at
Waiakea Houselots, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-035:006.
Bill No. 89 seeks to change the zoning from Single-Family Residential - 10,000 square feet
(RS-10) to Industrial-Commercial Mixed - 20,000 (MCX-20) for the parcel which is
approximately 22,900 square feet in size.
There was no public testimony on the matter.
Your Committee concurs with the Planning Commission and the Planning Director s favorable
recommendation for approval of the re-zoning request.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 89 and
recommends it pass first reading.
