ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 1, section 24-201 (Special parking
privileges), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 24-201. [Special pazking privileges.] Pazking for authorized vehicles.
(a) Vehicles of government agencies, public utility companies, garages, contractors
or any other person may stand and pazk contrary to the pazking provisions set
forth in this chapter when the owner or operator of such vehicle holds a special
permit issued by the chief of police granting (him] such [privilege] authorization
for a limited time. The permit shall be either in the possession of the driver or on
the vehicle at the time. No owner or driver shall violate any of the specific terms
or conditions of the permit."
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance aze declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
