Opposing Resolutions: 200.00, 201.08 & 202.09
My name is Lionel "Buddy" Azevedo. I am here to speak against the re-shuffling
of the Vice Chairman, the Finance Chairman, and Chairwoman of the Public
Works Committee.
They have all been doing a fantastic job for the people so why remove them? As
far as 1 am concerned the move was a racial prejudice move - when you are with
the County if you are not with the right click, and not hooked with a certain ethnic
group you will be punished - and no matter how much you accomplish you will
not be recognized - the bottom line is we are all American citizen, we all pay
taxes, and all of the county employees work for us, they are paid by us and it is
time that they show humility. Until this "disease" better known as racial prejudice,
Is cured, we will never move forward. Corruption will continue and those who do
good will be [punished like you are trying to do today.
I know this for a fact because I suffered 4 the hands of racial prejudice in my
own business by the Public works Division, which was made up of one ethnic
group. They punished me because I backed up' a Puerto Rican and Filipino for
the Water Department. Donna Kiyosaki wanted the job but because I backed up
Milton Pavao and, Querind] was totally discriminated by Donna Kiyosaki, Bob
Yanabu, Jiro Sumda, Casey Yanigahara, Glenn Okada and finally my own
councilman at the time, James Arakakai, sided with them at the time and blamed
me for the 1994 flooding for which I had nothing to do with and eventually the
County paid a settlement to me for all the wrongs I suffered at the hands of these
racially motivated scumbags.
Arakaki is bragging that he controls the present council that is why these 3 are
being removed because he could not control Hoffman, Yagong and Brenda Ford
who work tirelessly to help the people, do not engage in backroom deals, do not
lie, and they fight for the people.
After the County had to pay out taxpayer dollars because I was falsely accused,
all of the people got promoted by Yamashiro - Bob Yanabu - Chief Engineer,
Casey Yanigahara promoted by Kiyosaki to Traffic Division, Glen Okada, Head
of Dags at the State Department, Jiro Sumada promoted to second in command
at Department.of transportation and finally, James Arakaki got to promoted to
one more term - which he was found by courts to have run illegally based on the
laws passed by the voters which he totally ignored. Donna Kiyosaki moved to
Oahu and promoted to Dept of Water Manager in Oahu but that didn't last
because she was booted out for giving herself a $48,000 bonus.
