This resolution would remove veteran lawmakers from the committees that they have chaired for over two years now. These lawmakers and their staffs have learned all relevant federal, state, and county laws, rules, regulations, etc. and have established working relationships with their county administrative departments counterparts. If passed, this resolution would reduce the ability of the county council to perform its job effectively. It would further undermine the ability of county government to do its job at a time of historic crisis. Therefore, Resolution 201-09 is an attack on good government and the quality of life for all people living in or visiting Hawai'i. For these reasons, I am asking that you to vote against Resolution 200- 09. The current structure of the County Council is better than what is being proposed. Mahalo, Barbara Moore Comm. No.O.Z...
