HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 052 Draft 01 1994-1996COUiVTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO STATE OF HAWAII 5~ 95 (Draft 2) WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, of the Hawaii County Code provides that the County Council may, by resolution approved by a majority of its members, dispose of real property; and WHEREAS, the classroom building at Waimea Intermediate and Elementary School is deteriorated due to weathering and age; and WHEREAS, the Department of Education is requesting permission to demolish the facility to construct a new elementary school on the adjacent site; and WHEREAS, the Department of Finance previously advertised the sale of buildings, but were unable to attract bidders due to the high cost of liability insurance required by the County to remove the building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii that: 1. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Article 19 of the Hawaii County Code, the Director of Finance be authorized to dispose the classroom building located at Waimea Intermediate and Elementary School, Kamuela, Hawaii, TMK: 6-7-02-15 by demolition. 2. The Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to Horace Hara, Department of Education, and Harry A. Takahashi, Director of Finance.
