RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO SENATE BILL No. 1649
WHEREAS, the issuance of a special numbered conservation license plate would raise
public awazeness regarding Hawaii's endangered species; and
WHEREAS, the issuance of a special numbered license plate would provide revenue to
establish an endangered species and environmental education fund; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 1649, if it were enacted, would provide for the issuance of
the wild resource license plate by amending Chapter 249, HRS, and it would also amend Chapter
195D, HRS, to create an endangered species and environmental education fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it supports the intent of Senate Bill No. 1649 and urges its passage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit copies of
this Resolution to Senator Norman Mizuguchi, President of the Senate; Senator
Rod Tam, Chair of the Ecology & Environmental Protection Committee; Senator Andrew Levin;
and Director Mike Wilson, Department of Land and Natural Resources.
