RESOLUTION N0. 6a 95
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (DHS), State of
Hawaii, through a contract with the Office of Aging of the County of
Hawaii, provides state funds for the provision of chore services to
older adults in need of assistance to maintain their independent
living; and
WHEREAS, Title III-B, a federal grant, has added an additional
$15,000 for one year only, beginning October 1, 1994; and
WHEREAS, this supplement to the state grant is to provide
services to an additional 20 individuals, 1,268 hours of chore
service by the Department of Parks and Recreation, .Elderly
Activities Coordinated Services Program; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 3621, Community Services Aid II Hourly,
SR-7, is assigned to the Kohala/Hamakua Districts; and
WHEREAS, by changing Position No. 3621, from an hourly position
to a full time position, the staff can effectively meet the needs of
the community and the objectives established for the respective
districts, i.e., to provide services to the additional 20
individuals, 1,268 hours of chore services; and
WHEREAS, after the federal and state funding have been expended,
the County will continue the funding of this position; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in 010-481-5481.01-011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
1. That Position No. 3621, Community Services Aid II Hourly,
SR-7, be changed to Community Services Aid II, SR-7.
2. That the County of Hawaii will continue to fund this
position after the federal and state funds have been expended.
3. That funds are available in 010-481-5481.01-011.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks & Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service, and the Office of Aging.
