RESOLUTION N0. ~' ~~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII OR, IN
HIS ABSENCE, THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OR AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE
TO EXECUTE AND SUBMIT THE 1995 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND ALL OTHER
RELATED DOCUMENTS TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii receives federal funds from
the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities
Program; and
WHEREAS, it is required by HUD that, before the County of
Hawaii receives its 1995 CDBG allocation, the County submit a
Consolidated Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan contains the County's 1995
CDBG application for $2,257,000 for the 1995 CDBG Program year;
and
WHEREAS, the primary objective of the CDBG Program is the
development of viable communities by providing decent housing;
suitable living environments and expanding economic
opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate
income; and
WHEREAS, it is required by HUD that the County of Hawaii
also submit certifications assuring conformance to related rules,
regulations and laws of the CDBG Program; and
WHEREAS, a timely submission of the Consolidated Plan for
CDBG funds, in accordance with the appropriate federal
regulations, are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii or, in his
absence, the Managing Director or authorized representative is
hereby authorized to execute and submit the attached 1995
Consolidated Plan and all other related documents necessary to
process the Consolidated Plan to the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $2,257,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor or his authorized
representative is designated to act as the representative of the
County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Hawaii will
comply with the certification attached to the Consolidated Plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of Housing and Community Development.
