RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY WITH TADAO
SAKAMOTO AND MIYOKO SAKAMOTO; TAX MAP KEY NUMBERS (3)8-9-004-023
and (3)8-9-004-008.
WHEREAS, Tadao Sakamoto and Miyoko Sakamoto are the owners
of real property at Hoopuloa, South Kona, specifically Tax Map
Key Number (3)8-9-004-023; and
WHEREAS, the new County alignment for the road to Hoopuloa
infringes upon the Sakamotos' property; and
WHEREAS, the Sakamotos have agreed to exchange this portion
of their property for a remnant piece of the old alignment which
passes along the opposite side of their property; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-111 of the Hawaii County Code permits the
exchange of real property for private property and Section 2-118,
Hawaii County Code, allows for the disposal of remnant parcels.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that in accordance with Section 2-111 of the Hawaii
County Code, the County of Hawaii accepts the exchange of real
property, identified as Tax Map Key Number (3)8-9-004-023,
consisting of 1,390 square feet, from Tadao Sakamoto and Miyoko
Sakamoto, in exchange for the remnant parcel identified as Tax
Map Key Number (3)8-9-004-008, being of identical size.
