RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR G.R.E.A.T. GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco and Firearms (ATE), is desirous of providing funding for expenses
incurred in maintaining the Ganq Resistance Education and Training (GREAT)
program in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing
proceed with its obligations under the GREAT Program;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Cooperative Agreement 95699019, which will
effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
