RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO COUNTY GOVERNMENT DAY
WHEREAS, the county's purpose is to serve the people of the County; and
WHEREAS, the county provides a wide spectrum of services to its residents, and county
employees are proud of the service they provide; and
WHEREAS, when the public plays an active and involved role, government is more
effective; and
WHEREAS, the Council encourages closer participation between the citizens of Hawaii
County and its County government; and
WHEREAS, the executive and legislative branches of Hawaii County are making a
special effort to bring the public to the County Building to learn more about their local
government and the people who serve them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests the Mayor to proclaim November 9, 1995 as "County Government
Day."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit copies of
this Resolution to the Honorable Stephen Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii and all
department heads.
