RESOLUTION N0. X43 ~
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any
contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from
the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal
year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a multi-year lease
contract to acquire a copy machine for the Department of Parks &
Recreation, Recreation Division; and
WHEREAS, the department's existing copy machine has been in
operation but is not able to accommodate the volume of copies put
out by the Recreation Division, especially the Summer Fun Program as
well as the island-wide staff; and
WHEREAS, the downtime from the current machine results in lost
hours and inconveniences; and
WHEREAS, Bid Proposal No. 1583 indicates that the market is
right for a replacement of the copy machine; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of a copy machine will result in
increased productivity and efficiency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a multi-year
lease contract for the acquisition of a copy machine for the
Department of Parks & Recreation, Recreation Division.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the lease
contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this
resolution to the departments of Finance and Parks & Recreation.
