RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIHG TH6 COUNTY OF HAWAII TO BNTBR INTO AN AGR6EHENT WITH
THB UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT
GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department
of Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Office, is desirous of providing
funding for expenses to conduct DUI roadblocks; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Sobriety Checkpoint Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
HOW, THEREFORE BB IT RESOLVED BY THB COUHCIL OF TH6 COUHTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Project Number AL96-02(01-H-02), which will
effectuate these purposes.
B6 IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said tiayor Yamaehiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
