RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THB COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
TH6 UNITED STATES OF AMBRICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A SEATBELT 6NFORCEM
GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department
of Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Office, is desirous of providing
funding for expenses to conduct seatbelt roadblocks; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the seatbelt Enforcement Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BH IT RESOLVED BY TH6 COUNCIL OF TH6 COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Project Number OP96-05(01-H-02), which will
effectuate these purposes.
B6 IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
