RESOLUTION N0. 263 96
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-120, of the
Hawaii County Code provides that the County Council may by
resolution, approved by the majority of its members, dispose
of real property; and
WHEREAS, State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and
General Services is requesting the County of Hawaii to
convey a parcel containing an area of 1.991 acres (Tax Map
Key, 3rd Division 8-06-10:12) located adjacent to Hookena
Elementary School, South Kona, Hawaii, for school expansion;
and
WHEREAS, State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and
General Services will consolidate the parcel with the
adjoining State of Hawaii parcel; and
WHEREAS, State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and
General Services intends to construct a classroom building
and playfield, and
WHEREAS, State of Hawaii, Department of Education
desires to complete the first increment of classroom
building and playfield by September 1997; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has reviewed the request
and finds that it does not have a need for the parcel;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that:
1. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2,
Article 19, Section 2-120 of the Hawaii County Code, the
Director of Finance be authorized to negotiate the disposal
of the real property, Tax Map Key, 3rd Division 8-06-10:12
located at South Kona, Hawaii.
2. The Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to State of Hawaii, Department of
Accounting and General Services, and the Director of Finance.
