RESOLUTION N0. ~~~ S~
APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A
THREE-YEAR CONTRACT FOR THE SERVICES OF A CONTRACTOR TO PROCESS
BUY BACK TRANSACTIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that
any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of
funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that the Office of Housing and
Community Development obtain the services of a licensed
professional for the purpose of assisting with the repurchase and
resale of real property from owners in various subdivisions,
including, but not limited to, the Ainakea II, Paniolo Estates,
and Pualani Estates Subdivisions; and
WHEREAS, the process of repurchase and resale is complex and
time-consuming from an administration perspective and from a
property owner's standpoint; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to establish, develop and retain
this professional service for a three-year period to provide
administrative continuity and to effectively service the property
owners through the buy back and resale transactions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is hereby
authorized to execute a three (3) year contract for the provision
of professional services to administer the buy back contracts for
various subdivisions, but not limited to the Ainakea II, Paniolo
Estates, and Pualani Estates Subdivisions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of
Finance, and the Office of Housing and Community Development.
