AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 3, section 24-210, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended to read as follows: Section 24-210. Hours of freight loading zones; schedule. (a) The provisions regarding freight curb loading zones shall be applicable only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. [of any day,] unless otherwise noted except on Sundays and public holidays. When the provisions are not in effect, vehicles may park in freight curb loading zones unless otherwise prohibited by this chapter. (b) The areas of streets described in schedule 36, section 24-288 are designated as freight-loading and unloading zones, when appropriate signs or markings giving notice thereof are erected. SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-267, schedule 15 (One way streets), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: Punahoa Street. All vehicular traffic shall move in the Puna direction from Mamo Street to Ponahawai Street. ~ Punahoa Street. All vehicular traffic shall move in the Hamakua direction from Mamo Street to Furneaux Lane. SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), as amended, is amended as follows: O Punahoa Street, mauka side, [Ponahawai] Mamo Street to Fumeaux Lane. 1 SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No pazking at anytime, subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is further amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: ~ Punahoa Street mauka side. from a point one hundred fiftv-eight feet Puna of Mamo Street to Ponahawai Street. SECTION 5. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24-288.01, schedule 36.01 (Active loading and unloading zones), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by deleting the following item: [(1) Kamehameha Avenue, mauka side, from Mamo Street to a point sixty feet in the Hamakua direction, from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Wednesdays and Saturdays. (2) Mamo Street, both sides, from Kamehameha Avenue to Punahoa Street, from 5:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m., on Wednesdays and Saturdays. (3) Punahoa Street, makai side, from Mamo Street to a point sixty-one feet in the Hamakua direction.] 2 SECTION 8. Chapter 24, article 10, division 7, section 24-289, schedule 37 (36 minute pazking meter zones), subsection (c) Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: ~ Kamehameha Avenue mauka side, from Mamo Street to a point sixty feet in the Hamakua direction. ~ Mamo Street Hamakua side, between Kamehameha Avenue and Punahoa Street. ~ Mamo Street Puna side, Keawe Street to Kamehameha Avenue. SECTION 9. Chapter 24, article 10, division 7, section 24-291, schedule 39 (2 hour parking meter zones), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), as amended, is amended to read as follows: Section 24-291. Schedule 39.2 hour parking meter zones. Two hour parking meter zones are established upon those streets or portions of streets described in this schedule upon which the parking of vehicles shall be regulated by parking meters at the rate often cents per hour or a flat rate for up to two hours pursuant to section 24-216.01: (a) Hamakua (b) North Hilo (c) South Hilo (1) The old County Building Pazking lot located at the northeast comer of the Waianuenue Avenue and Keawe Street intersection.
