RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF 650 TONS OF ASPHALTIC
CONCRETE MATERIAL FOR THE KAUPAKUEA HOMESTEAD ROAD.
WHEREAS, KAUPAKUEA HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION has agreed to
donate 650 tons of asphaltic concrete material for the purpose of
paving a 1.2 mile ten foot wide roadway of the Kaupakuea
Homestead Road in accordance with the Memorandum Agreement among
Kaupakuea Homestead Association, C. Brewer and Company, Ltd. and
the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the value of this donation is THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND
AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($31,000.00); and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County
Charter, provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the
Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii is authorized to
accept the donation of 650 tons of asphaltic concrete material
from Kaupakuea Homestead Association.
A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the
Department of Finance, Accounts Division, and to the Department
of Public Works.
