ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by deleting the following item:
[(143) Wailuku Drive, Puna side, from Shipman Street to Kekaulike Street.]
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
further amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Kamehameha Avenue mauka side from a point seventy feet northwest of
Shuman Street to Wailuku Drive.
~ Wailuku Drive Puna side Kamehameha Avenue to Keawe Street.
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24288, schedule 36 (Freight
loading zones), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended to read as follows:
(c) South Hilo
(1) Banyan Drive, beginning at a point one hundred eighty-two feet west
of the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel entry driveway and extending forty-four
feet in the westerly direction.
(2) Furneaux Lane, makai of Keawe Street, Puna side, twenty-five feet.
[(3) Haili Street, Puna side, thirty-five feet mauka from Keawe Street
twenty-two feet.]
[(4)]~ Hualalai Street, Puna side, directly in front of the St. Joseph School
Cafeteria.
[(5)]~4,) Kalakaua Street, Puueo side, mauka of unnamed private lane between
First Hawaiian Bank and Hawaii National Bank, twenty feet.
[(6) Kamehameha Avenue, mauka side, Puueo of Furneaux Lane, thirty-
five feet.

thirty feet.

the Puna direction. •

seventy-one feet makai of Keawe Street and extending forty feet
toward Kamehameha Avenue.

twenty-five feet.]

SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 5. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
