RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Parks Maintenance
Division, has over 120 workers maintaining daily island-wide
operations of 130 parks and facilities; and
WHEREAS, there are only two clerical support staff, one Senior
Account Clerk and one Storekeeper 1/2T; and
WHEREAS, there is no one person keeping up with the maintenance
history for each facility that would assist the Division Head in long
range planning for preventive maintenance and to handle typing of
requests and correspondence; and
WHEREAS, by increasing the time element of Position No. 2990,
Storekeeper 1/2T to fulltime, the clerical staff would be able to
improve the monitoring of OSHA, reports, required licenses, job
performance reports, time sheets, inventory, MSDS updates and
equipment maintenance and replacement program; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds within the Department of
Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division, to cover the cost
of the additional time element.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED HY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Position No. 2990, Storekeeper 1/2T, SR-11, be changed to
Storekeeper, SR-11.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available within the
Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks & Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
