RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THB COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE UNITED STATES OF AHERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A COH1iUNITY POLICING
GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United Slates of America through the State Department
of the Attorney General Crime Prevention anfl Justice Assistance Program, is
desirous of providing funding Eoc expenses to improve public safety by
identifying problem areas and with the community seek proactive measures to
combat the problems; and
WHERtiAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Community Policing Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenfliture or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
HOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THS COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Project Number 95-DB-16, which will
effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Piayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
