RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO fiHTER INTO AH AGREEMENT WITH
THB UNITED STATBS OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A MARIJUANA
ERADICATION GRANT.
WHERBAS, the United States of America through the Department of
Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providing funding for
expenses for eradication and suppression of illicit marijuana; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Marijuana Eradication Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
HOW, THEREFORE BB IT RESOLVED BY THB COUNCIL OF THB COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Project Humber 96-14, which will effectuate
these purposes.
BB IT FURTHER RBSOLVBD, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
