RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A COPS -
COMMUNITY POLICING TO COMBAT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the U.S.
Department of Justice Office of Community Policing Services (COPS), is
desirous of providing funding for expenses to reduce domestic violence
incidents within the County of Hawaii by providing specific support
services to the victims.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and
willing to proceed with its obligations under the COPS - Community
Policing to Combat Domestic Violence Grant;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised
Statutes, the Federal government may enter into agreements with the
Council of the County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of
funds or for other assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and
designated to sign in the name of the County Project number 96DVWR02o5,
which will effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed
to forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief
of Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
