RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO RUMBLE STRIPS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF PUA
AND DESHA AND BAKER AND DESHA AVENUES IN KEAUKAHA,
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii recently installed four way stop signs at the intersections
of Pua and Desha and Baker and Desha Avenues in Keaukaha; and
WHEREAS, the community has observed many vehicles not stopping at these intersections,
thus creating a traffic hazard in the area; and
WHEREAS, the Council sees that it is in the public interest to install rumble strips at the
approaches to these intersections on Pua Avenue and Baker Avenue to serve as a reminder to
approaching traffic of the stop signs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that $2,330 from Council District N discretionary funds be and is hereby
transferred/appropriated out and from Pazks and Recreation Pazks R&M Improvements Account No.
010-505-5505.51-115 and credited to Public Works Chief Engineers' Miscellaneous Contract
Services Account No. 010-173-5173.02-115 for the purpose of installing rumble strips on Pua and
Baker Avenues at the approaches to their intersections with Desha Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit copies of
this resolution to Mr. George Yoshida, Director of the Department of Pazks and Recreation; Ms.
Donna F. Kiyosaki, Chief Engineer of the Departrnent of Public Works and Mr. Harry Takahashi,
Director of the Department of Finance.
