RE: Resolution Requesting the Hawaii County Salary Commission to Revert ~

Councilmember Salaries to the Amount Prior to the Recently Enacted 22.1 4% Increase
Please find attached a Resolution requesting that the Hawaii County Salary Commission effectively
reduce the salary of all Council Members to reflect those amounts prior to the recently enacted 22.14%
pay increase.
By law, only the Hawaii County Salary Commission can either increase or decrease pay for elected
officials.
Please place this matter on the appropriate Committee Agenda for July 7, 2009.
