RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii desires to improve the physical
quality of community life; and
WHEREAS, the expense of collecting and disposing of loose
refuse is an ever-increasing expense to the county; and.
WHEREAS, a clean environment contributes to the emotional,
physical and economic well-being of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Keep America Beautiful System, developed by Keep
America Beautiful, Inc., will assist greatly in reducing the
improper handling of waste in our country, and thereby reduce
litter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the County Council hereby endorses the Keep America
Beautiful System, and supports the participation of the County of
Hawaii in the System.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in keeping with the design of the
Reep America Beautiful System, the Hawaii County Council hereby
recognizes the Ho'onani Hawaii Nei Committee, whose chairman and
members are appointed, and is an official committee of the County
and accountable to the Mayor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its adoption, and that a copy of
this resolution be transmitted to Ho'onani Hawaii Nei Committee.
