RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any
contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from
the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal
year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County Civil Defense Agency has certain equipment
presently under service agreement with Motorola Communications and
Electronics, Inc. (hereinafter called Motorola); and
WHEREAS, if the County of Hawaii enters into a two-year
agreement with Motorola, Motorola will agree to reduce the cost of
the 1993-94 contract by ten percent (10%) and will further reduce
the cost of the 1994-95 contract by an additional ten percent (10%);
and
WHEREAS, the cost savings to the County of Hawaii will be
$6,199.68 over the two-year period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That it approve a two-year service agreement with Motorola
beginning July 1, 1993, and ending June 30, 1995.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the service
agreement.
