RESOLUTION N0. 79 ~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF REAL
PROPERTY FROM SAM MAPP AND ELIZA MAPP; TAX MAP KEY
NUMBER (3) 1-1-109:063.
WHEREAS, Sam Mapp and Eliza Mapp are the owners of real
property in the Royal Gardens Subdivision in Puna, specifically
Tax Map Key Number (3) 1-1-109-063; consisting of approximately
1.193 acres; and
WHEREAS, this property has been inundated with lava and is of
no present or foreseeable future use to the Mapps; and
WHEREAS, they have donated these properties to the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County
Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts or donations of real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of
the Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii accepts the
donation of real property, identified by Tax Map Key
Number (3) 1-1-109-063, consisting of 1.193 acres from Sam Mapp
and Eliza Mapp.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent
to the Mapps by the Council.
