RESOLUTION N0. ~ 93
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any
contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from
the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal
year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a multi-year lease
contract with purchase options to acquire a copy machine for the
Department of Civil Service; and
WHEREAS, the department's ezistinq copy machine has been in
operation for over twelve (12) years and has been adjusted to its
fullest level, requiring frequent cleaning and servicing; and
WHEREAS, the quality of the reproduced material is substandard;
and
WHEREAS, the downtime from the aging machine results in lost
hours and inconveniences; and
WHEREAS, Bid Proposal No. 1447 indicates that the market is
right for a replacement of the copy machine; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of a copy machine will result in
increased productivity and efficiency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a multi-year
lease with purchase options for the acquisition of a copy machine
for the Department. of Civil Service.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the service
agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this
resolution to the departments of Finance and Civil Service.
