RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Section 46-32, Hawaii Revised Statutes, relating to
Employees of Council, authorizes the Council of any County to
appoint and employ personnel as it deems necessary and prescribe
their powers, duties and compensation; and
WHEREAS, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, authorizes the
County Council to provide for interim amendments to the Salary
Ordinance by resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-32, Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the County Council deems it necessary to create a student intern
program to assist the Council and its standing committees in its
daily operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance of 1993 be amended by creating
three (3) part-time student intern positions for the Clerk/Council,
each to be paid at the rate of $5.25 an hour, not to ezceed $700
each during the fiscal year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available in the
Clerk/Council Salaries and Wages account due to eaistinq vacancies.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Civil Service and Finance.
