RESOLUTION N0. 133 93
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CIRCLE ISLAND PROVISIONS OF THE FUEL TAX
INCREASE EXPENDITURE PLAN.
WHEREAS, Resolution 397-88, adopted by the Hawaii County Council
on March 15, 1988, provided an additional 3.8 cents per gallon in
fuel tax revenues for road resurfacing projects over a ten-year
period; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 351-91, adopted by the Hawaii County Council
on August 7, 1991, amended the provisions of the Fuel Tax Increase
Expenditure Plan; and
WHEREAS, one of the amendments to the expenditure plan provided
that revenues in excess of the monthly amount projected for any
increment be made available for allotment to Circle Island roadways;
and
WHEREAS, the Circle Island account has accumulated a balance in
excess of projected appropriations; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii finds that it is in
the best interest of the County to utilize any excess in the Circle
Island account for district needs, as song as district allotments
are made in accordance with the district distribution formula.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it hereby amends the provision of the Fuel Tax
Expenditure Plan by allowing excess balances in the Circle Island
Fuel Tax Projects account to be distributed amongst the various
districts in accordance with the established district distribution
formula.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit copies of this Resolution to the Honorable Stephen K.
Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; Ms. Donna F. Kiyosaki,
Chief Engineer and Ms. Dixie Kaetsu, Controller.
