RESOLUTION N0. 117 93
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any
contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from
the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal
year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's office in Kona is renting on
a month-to-month basis a Xerox Copier Model 5052 at an average cost
of $788.00 a month; and
WHEREAS, the low bid for Bid Proposal No. 1447 for furnishing,
delivering, installing and maintaining office copy machines and
facsimile machines was Xerox Corporation at $577.80 a month for a
lease purchase; and
WHEREAS, by entering into a lease purchase agreement with Xerox
Corporation, the County of Hawaii will save an average of over $200
a month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a multi-year
lease with purchase options for the acquisition of a copy machine
for the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the service
agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this
resolution to the Department of Finance and the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney.
