HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 152 Draft 01 1992-1994COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION N0. 152 93 A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 135-77 AND DESIGNATING THE COUNTY CLERK TO BE THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE TO THE COMMITTEE FOR DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS. WHEREAS, Section 46-43, Hawaii Revised Statutes, relating to the destruction of vouchers and documents, creates a committee composed of the director of finance, corporation counsel and members of the finance committee of the legislative body of the county, or their authorized representatives, to approve the destruction of vouchers, documents and other records, which have been retained for a minimum period determined by the legislative body of the county; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 330, dated February 7, 1968, set the minimum retention period at five years; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 135, dated August 3, 1977, designates the chairman of the finance committee to be the authorized representative on the Committee for Destruction of Records; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 50, dated May 3, 1989, amended Section 2 (a) of Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii relating to standing committees by adding destruction of records to the finance committee which was inadvertently omitted in Section 2(a) of Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Resolution No. 135-77 is hereby repealed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Committee hereby designates the County Clerk to be the authorized representative on the Committee for Destruction of Records. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the Corporation Counsel and the Director of Finance. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 9th day of February 1994.
