RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ADMINISTRATION TO MAKE A STUDY OF THE
FLOODING ON ALAWAENA STREET.
WHEREAS, Alawaena Street is the last residential street in
upper Waiakea-Uka running parallel to upper Ainaola Drive and
Hoaka Streets; and
WHEREAS, upcounty obstructions to the natural flood channel
have changed in recent years and have caused flooding problems and
damage to private roadways in the area; and
WHEREAS, the population has increased and the number of
families with school-age children has led to a substantial
increase in traffic on Alawaena Street; and
WHEREAS, other municipal services have difficulty in servicing
the area due to eroded road conditions.'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests the Administration to make a study as to
the cause of flooding on Alawaena Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor,
Ms. Donna F. Kiyosaki, ChTajiri915tate HousetofnRepresentativesks,
and the Honorable Harvey
