RESOLUTION N0. 180 ~4
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, of the Hawaii County Code
provides that the County Council may, by resolution approved
by a majority of its members, dispose of real property; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii purchased a parcel of land in
1952 with an area of 6,013 square feet at Ahualoa, Hamakua,
Hawaii, TMK: 4-6-08:48, for the purpose of a reservoir
site; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Supply was then an agency of the
County, however, in 1968 the County charter created the
Department of Water Supply as semi-autonomous agency of the
County which manages its own property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Water Supply is requesting the
County transfer said parcel to them in order that they may
consolidate this parcel with the adjacent site to construct
a larger reservoir and its appurtenances; and
WHEREAS, the transfer is necessary for the Department of
Water Supply to submit the consolidation plan to the
Planning Department for its approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
1. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2,
Article 19, of the Hawaii County Code, the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to transfer the parcel at
Ahualoa, Hamakua, Hawaii, TMK: 4-6-08:48, to the Department
of Water Supply.
2. The Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit copies of
this resolution to the Manager of the Department of Water
Supply and the Director of Finance.
